Net Neutrality debate: AIB points out why comments to the govt matter

Supporters of net neutrality have roped in AIB to get people to log on to mygov.in and register their comments on the entire debate which has gripped the country for the past few months.

Humour is the best way to drill in an idea, and of course to get a campaign rolling. No wonder then that the supporters of net neutrality have roped in AIB, arguably the funniest guys online in India, to get people to log on to mygov.in and register their comments on the entire debate which has gripped the country for the past few months.

“We need to hold the DoT accountable for Internet freedom,” says the video, which might not be as funny as the rest of the stuff AIB has been doing so far, but passes on a clear message to Indias netizens to not be lazy and not get their comments logged.

The AIB video also takes a dig at TRAI for releasing emails of users who had commented on the Net Neutrality paper that had been put out by the regulatory authority in March. TRAI’s move had been slammed because it had exposed over 1 million email ids to potential spammers, phishers.

AIB also mocks the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) which had sent out messages to users saying that they supported ‘free Internet’ for all, by pointing out that COAI’s vaguely worded message does really convey their true stand on the issue.
