WeChat issues new update to fix iOS App Store malware

WeChat updates its iOS app to version 6.2.6 with fix to iOS malware

After reports of Apple’s App Store being attacked by XcodeGhost malware, WeChat has issued an update which patches the malware.

WeChat has now issued an official response saying the external malware has affected iOS users only on WeChat version 6.2.5 and upgrading to version 6.2.6 or greater fixes the malware. The update is now available for download from the App Store.

WeChat further states that there has been no theft or leakage of users information or money and the team is continuously monitoring the situation. It adds that their tech team is extensively experienced to combat attacks of this kind.
