Facebook is expanding its search function to include public posts as well.
Facebook is making changes to its universal search feature and will now include all public posts in the results. Facebook made an official announcement is a press statement, pointing that the social network sees over 1.5 billion searches per day and indexes over 2 trillion posts.
Facebook says that with the new feature when you type for something on the social network, public posts from your friends around the topic will be displayed in the results. Users can also pull-to-refresh and see the latest public posts.

Facebook says the new improved search will now offer personalised suggestions and as a user types for a particular topic, the site will highlight things that are happening at that moment around that topic.
Also with one tap, users will be able to find public posts about a link that is getting shared a lot on the site. The company believes this will give users a better sense of the general sentiment prevailing around a popular link.
