Did you know you can do a lot of other cool things on Facebook Messenger, apart from chatting? Facebook recently introduced bots for Messenger, which are capable of booking doctor appointments, cabs and more. In fact, bots will soon become as much a part of the conversation as real people.
As Facebook says in its blog, “bots can provide anything from automated subscription content like weather and traffic updates, to customized communications like receipts, shipping notifications, and live automated messages all by interacting directly with the people who want to get them.”
Here are a few things that a Messenger bot can do:
Book Uber: Users can book an Uber through Facebook’s Messenger chatbot, without exiting the app.
Consult a doctor: Facebook Messenger now has an option for users in India to get health tips and advice from Lybrate’s chatbot. Lybrate is an online platfrom that lets users consult doctors, and the service claims to have over 100,000 doctors as part of its portal.
Book an auto: Jugnoo Bot, introduced by Jugnoo will allow users to book an auto on Facebook Messenger. Users will also be able to track their auto in real time.
Manage day-to-day task: MagicX, an app that enables grocery shopping, online recharge etc has launched its services for users on Messenger bot.
