Xiaomi has announced another budget Redmi smartphone in China. Xiaomi Redmi 3s is an upgraded version of Redmi 3 which was launched early this year.

Xiaomi Redmi 3s will be available in China starting at 699 Yuan. The base variant comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage while there is another variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage priced at 899 Yuan.

Both the variants will go on sale on Xiaomi’s online store and the company has not shared any details on global availability yet.

Xiaomi Redmi 3s’ biggest improvement over Redmi 3 is the fingerprint scanner placed at the back. Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with a 5-inch HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor.

The smartphone comes with hybrid storage with support for micro + nano SIM slot. The micro-SIM slot also doubles up as a microSD slot. Xiaomi Redmi 3s comes with a 13MP primary rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture.

The handset also has a 5MP front camera with 1080p video recording capability. Xiaomi Redmi 3s will be available in grey, silver and gold colour option. Xiaomi Redmi 3s is backed by a 4100mAh battery.
