According to Counterpoint Research’s Tarun Pathak, some iPhone sellers in India reported about 18 to 20 per cent improvement in opening sales when compared to last year, and both the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Pro series are said to have received a positive response in the country.
To buy the latest iPhone 16, some people queued in front of the Apple Stores in Mumbai and Delhi, while others waited for their pre-orders to get delivered. Besides, people also bought the latest iPhones from authorised sellers and also via various e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart.
Interestingly, people were also able to buy the latest iPhone 16 series and get it delivered in under 10 minutes via quick commerce platforms like Big Basket and Blinkit.
This year, there was no price hike for the base iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. On the contrary, there was a price cut for the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, especially when compared to their contemporaries, where both models were more affordable and also came with new features like a 5x optical zoom lens, camera capture button, A18 Pro chip with Apple Intelligence (shipping soon), big display and batteries.
