Sony has started rolling out the PS4 update version 4.00 codenamed ‘Shingen’. The update brings a new UI system, Folder organisation, updates to the Share and the Quick Menu and more. The new features that come with the Shingen update were revealed by Sony. The update was available for beta testers in August. Here are some of the changes that come with the update-
Quick Menu Music – The new update introduces Quick Menu, which lets a user access the menu without having to leave the game. The Quick Menu will pop open in a portion of the screen, and is also customisable. The Quick Menu now features an enhanced Music section that will allow a user to discover, play music on Spotify without opening the app. You will also be able to play, skip, pause, repeat, save and shuffle songs from the Quick Menu. Music in the Quick Menu was missing in the beta version of the update.
All PlayStation 4 systems back from the very first console sold in 2013 will be HDR capable. After updating users will see an HDR settings in the Video Output Settings. There is still a need for an HDR compatible display to play content in HDR.

What’s New – This section has been redesigned to show more information about what your friends are doing on the PS4. The left column in the menu includes the new Activity Feed. The right column on the other hand includes sections for Trending, Who to Follow, Players you may know and Now Playing.
Data can be transferred from an old PS4 to a new one through a wired LAN connection. You will be able to transfer games, saved data and user info.
