Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, one of the most anticipated mobile games of the year is launching on March 21 worldwide. The upcoming battle royale title is said to feature the same maps as the desktop version and will be available on iOS and Android.
Developed by Activision, the same studio that Microsoft recently acquired for a whopping $69 billion, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was available as a limited beta for the entirety of 2023.
Activision revealed that Verdansk and Rebirth Island, two popular large-scale battle royale maps will be available to play at the launch. They will be joined by a flurry of multiplayer maps like Shipment, Scrapyard and Shoot House. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will also introduce game modes like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy and Domination.
To give you a quick recap, Verdansk is a fictional city that features a multitude of areas and supports up to 120 players. Similar to the desktop version, players also have a chance to respawn by fighting in the Verdansk Gulag.
For those who want chaotic gunfights, the developers also seem to have ported Rebirth Island, a small map that pits 48 players against one another and is famous for non-stop action. Unlike Verdansk, where you have to fight others to respawn, players on Rebirth Island can respawn as long as they have a teammate alive.
For those who pre-register for the game, Activision is offering a bunch of redeemable rewards when the game will be available to all. This includes the Ghost ‘Condemned’ operator skin, the M4 ‘Archfiend’ and X12 ‘Prince of Hell’ weapon blueprints, the ‘Foe’s Flame’ vinyl and the ‘Dark Familiar’ emblem.
Activision seems to have worked on optimising the game for mobile devices, with Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile offering granular control customisation. The developers say almost every button can be moved and resized, with players having the option to customise the HUD as well. The game is also confirmed to support game controllers and offer graphical presets that let you prioritise performance and graphics or have the best of both worlds.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will also support cross-progression across various platforms. The Play XP you earn on Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will automatically be carried over to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and vice versa. Apart from this, weapons you level up or camos and attachments you earn in any game will also be synchronised.
Another feature coming to the mobile game is the ability to share progression Battle Pass progress between the two titles. The developers say content from the BlackCell Battle Pass offering and that except a handful of Bundles you purchase and own on the desktop version of the games will also be available in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
