US Open 2021 Men’s Semi-Final Highlights: Daniil Medvedev advanced to his second Grand Slam final of the year after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 in the US Open men’s singles semi-finals at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York on Saturday.

The 25-year-old second seed has been in stellar form so far in the tournament. Before facing the 21-year-old Canadian in the last four, he had registered routine victories over Richard Gasquet, Dominik Koepfer, Pablo Andujar, Dan Evans and Botic van de Zandschulp. He will next face either Novak Djokovic or Alexander Zverev in the final. Auger-Aliassime too had a decent run, beating the likes of Frances Tiafoe and Roberto Bautista Agut along the way. This was his best-ever showing at any Grand Slam.
Medvedev wins it! Just like the second set, he imposes himself on the rookie. From 5-2, he books his place in the final in a matter of minutes against Auger-Aliassime, who did shine at certain moments of the contest. The Russian enters his second Grand Slam final of the year and he just might face the man who had beaten him back in Melbourne next.

Medvedev shows his class yet again! He breaks Auger-Aliassime twice in a row and takes a commanding lead.
Arthur Ashe finds its voice again! Auger-Aliassime starts well on his serve, going ahead by 30-15! But he stumbles, ceding his lead to Medvedev, who makes it deuce! But the Canadian wins it from there, sealing the game on the first advantage.
One set away from the final now! Medvedev races to 40-0, drops a point and then seals the set. After saving Auger-Aliassime's two set points, the Russian won 14 of the last 16 points. Simple outstanding from the second seed!
Medvedev turns it around! After holding his own serve, he breaks Auger-Aliassime again. Completely dominant now.
Breathtaking tennis! Both players are showing their talent for each and every point, with Medvedev fighting to stay in the set. After some consecutive blows, Auger-Aliasssime gets a set point but Medvedev pulls of a well-measured backhand to make it to deuce! The Canadian throws away another set point and soon afterwards, Medvedev comes back to win it.
Auger-Aliassime stays on course of bouncing back with a set of his own. After holding three serves, he gives the second seed a real fight, pushes him to two deuces and then earning a vital break. Impressive from the 21-year-old!
Auger-Aliassime shows yet again that he can hold his serve. But the question is... can he break in the second set?
Medvedev draws first blood! The crowd cheers in the beginning as the Canadian goes up by two points, but it's no problem for the 2019 US Open finalist. He turns things around from 0-30, picks up four straight points and goes one up!
There it is, the first break of the contest! Medvedev takes the upper-hand in a crucial juncture of the first set. Auger-Aliassime completely dominated and now the 21-year-old has to find a crack in the Russian's serve. Interesting.
No doubt about it so far! Medvedev is wrapping up his serves quickly... much like last time, he seals his third game of the first set from a 40-15 lead. Auger-Aliassime has to experiment a little to find the crucial break against the second seed.
After Medvedev wrapped up his first game on his serve, Auger-Aliassime continues with his. He goes up 30-15 but after a baseline rally with his opponent, it's 30-30! But he bounces back, picks up two points and holds.
Auger-Aliassime starts things off in the semi-final! He races to two quick points but the experienced Medvedev pulls two back to make it 30-30, the latest with a delightful backhand. The Canadian goes one up but a double fault makes it deuce! After two deuces, he does hold in the end and that's the end of the first game at the Arthur Ashe Stadium!
Finally, the semi-finalists are on the court! Both Medvedev and Auger-Aliassime are warming up now...

Felix Auger-Aliassime is set to play in his first Slam semi-final. “I need to step up and be confident,” the Canadian said. “I need to try to put pressure on him. But it’s going to be tough. I need to be ready for his best.”
Daniil Medvedev, who lost this year’s Australian Open final and the 2019 US Open final, seeks his first major. “I have this experience. I’m not going to be tight,” he said. “If I play well, it’s going to be not easy for my opponent.”
