Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who has recently bought peace with dissidents, said that he,would undertake total revamp of his Cabinet after March next.
“A complete revamp of the ministry will be undertaken at the completion of two years,” he told reporters here noting that after March, his effort would also be to induct some women ministers.
Significantly, the Chief Minister said “senior people” in the Government will be given “some other responsibilities” in the exercise.
The Chief Minister bought peace with dissidents after the BJP high command hammered out a compromise formula that has already seen the entry of two prominent dissidentsformer Assembly Speaker Jagdish Shettar and M P Renukacharya into the Cabinet and exit of the CM’s close associate,Shobha Karandlaje, who was the lone woman minister.
Yeddurappa said there is no scope for cabinet expansion till the next Budget session and “we may think of this only after two years of government”.
He struck a philosophical note on induction of his arch critic Renukacharya saying in politics sometimes decisions have to be taken which were not to one’s liking.
“In politics we have to make some decisions. Sometimes we may like them, sometimes we may not like them. Legislators wanted it,” he said.
