Congress slams BJP for using the cabinet as a ‘shield’

Congress slammed the ruling BJP for its demand that governor should not give consent for prosecuting Yeddyurappa.

The Congress today slammed the ruling BJP for its alleged attempts to use the Cabinet as a “shield” for its ministers from charges of corruption and its demand that the governor should not give consent for prosecuting Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.

Accusing the BJP of shielding “corrupt” ministers, including Reddy brothers, who are allegedly involved in illegal mining,Karnataka PCC head G Parameshwara said the ruling party was also trying to cover up the deeds of Yeddyurappa, who has “no moral right to continue in office.”

In a statement,Parameshwara flayed the BJP’s threat of holding protests against Governor H R Bhardwaj,if he gave consent to prosecute Yeddyurappa and Home Minister R Ashoka.
