Candidates face attacks, protests

Convoys of National Conference and PDP candidates were attacked by protesters on Monday. They pelted stones at the convoy of the PDP candidate at Eidgah during a road-show in the old city and were lathicharged. In Karan Nagar area of the city, NC legislator Shameema Fidous’s convoy was attacked. In Amira Kadal, NC candidate Nasir Aslam Wani, along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was on his way to filing his papers when protesters chanted slogans at him.
