This refers to ‘Constricted by law’ by Ila Patnaik (IE, January 2). The decision to remove fruit and vegetables from the purview of the APMC acts is laudable. This will also encourage foreign retailers to come to India. The government must make it easier for this to happen by liberalising the FDI rules.
