Caught on camera
* Its disgusting to learn that two Karnataka ministers had reportedly been watching pornography when the state assembly was in session (Minister caught viewing porn in Karnataka House,IE,February 8). It is an outrage. They have insulted the people of Karnataka who elected them. Its also an insult to their party. Although they have resigned from their ministries, they should be made to vacate their MLA seats as well.

Shock treatment
* The juxtaposed articles by Abhishek Manu Singhvi (Wheres the indictment?,IE,February 7,IE) and Ravi Shankar Prasad (Account for the delay),spokespersons of the Congress and the BJP respectively, are in line with their party positions. But to a layperson, its obnoxious that crores of rupees have been siphoned off by a single person former telecom minister A. Raja. Public confidence in governance has been shaken.

Fighting the govt
* This refers to the editorial Too hard, too fast (IE,February 7). The decision to blacklist four scientists is short-sighted. Add to it the fact that the accused were not even given a proper hearing to explain their position. The revelation by ex-ISRO chief Madhavan Nair that he had to virtually gatecrash to give an explanation is unfortunate. Even now,the country doesnt know whether the scientists were officially informed of the government decision to blacklist them. If the accused decide to drag the government to court,we will shortly have a queue of top officers lining up at the court against government action.

UP for grabs
* This refers to UP slowing India, need to change… not obsessed with being PM: Rahul (IE,February 7). Whether Rahul Gandhi is building himself up for prime ministership or not,one thing is clear: he is working hard for the resurrection of the Congress in the political hotbed that UP is. It would have been better if Priyanka Gandhi were made to contest in UP.

RSS dig
* Apropos RSS slams Annas silence on its role (IE,February 6),I would like to point out a contradiction in RSS chief Mohan Bhagwats statement. On the one hand he says RSS workers took part in Hazares agitation in large numbers in their individual capacity. On the other,Bhagwat says he is baffled because Hazare didnt acknowledge their contribution. Hazare had thanked all participants. Are not RSS workers covered in all? Why does Bhagwat want Hazare to mention RSS even though it had not directed its workers to join?
This is an example of doublespeak in which the Sangh Parivar excels.
