Trust the Brazilians to strum it up in style. The ongoing festival of Brazil in India, its first full-fledged cultural outing here, will peak with a performance of one of its biggest stars, Yamandu Costa, whose superfast strumming and showmanship has made him a legend in the world of the seven-string guitar. Wilian Fernandes Pereira, the embassy8217;s cultural attacheacute;, says there8217;s a lot of excitement about the November 7 show at the IHC and hopes it is a packed house. Costa will be followed by a performance by Pedro Moraesbelow and his five-member band. Moraes, one of the most important composers of Brazilian popular music, will also conduct a workshop. 8220;This is important to spread the music of our country and its many rhythms,8221; says Pereira.
