Dhaka, Oct 23: A confident Zimbabwe clash with experienced New Zealand in the inaugural tie of the Mini World Cup cricket tournament here tomorrow even as fears loom large of unseasonal rains ushering in the new tie-break rule.

The last thing rival captains Alistair Campbell of Zimbabwe and Stephen Fleming of New Zealand want is their pre-quarter-final match truncated or decided by the tie-breaker.

Under the rule, being applied for the first time in a major tournament, in the event of 25 overs-a-side not being completed in a match, five bowlers from either side will aim at a set of stumps and the team scoring most hits will be declared the winner.

Echoing the fears of many of his counterparts in the nine-nation tournament, Campbell said 8220;Basically, it is a knockout tournament. It could be one game, it could be more.8221;

He, however, felt Zimbabwe had turned the corner after their dramatic one-off Test victory over India earlier this month. 8220;We won against India, the guys are confident and are playinggood cricket.

8220;In one-day games, nobody is an underdog. We are taking it very seriously,8221; he said.

8220;It8217;s a 50-50 opportunity,8221; said Fleming, who led New Zealand to the Commonwealth Games bronze medal.
