SURAT, OCT 29: In a most tragic incident a young couple allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Tapi river off ONGC-Magdalla bridge on Thursday evening leaving their three-year old son on the bridge.
Police sources said here on Friday that the body of Tarun Kumar Parekh (27) an employee of Hazira based Essar steel had been recovered by late Thursday night and the search for the other victim Nita Tarun Kumar is on.
The Ichhapore police who are investigating the case said that as per the statement of the victims’ relative, who is also working for the same company, they had left home for Surat along with their son by scooter for Diwali shopping. However Parekh’s son and their scooter was found on the bridge, sources informed.
Further investigations are on.
