
VADODARA, July 1: The 9144 Up and 9143 Down Ahmedabad-Mumbai Lokshakti Express will be yet another train for city-based passengers to travel to and from Mumbai.
The 9144 Up will arrive in Vadodara at 11.20 p.m and depart for Mumbai at 11.30 p.m., while the down train to Ahmedabad will arrive at 2.35 a.m. and leave for Ahmedabad at 2.45 a.m.
The reservation procedure for this train would be the same as that for other trains, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Manmohan Singh told Express Newsline.
Currently, two Rajdhanis, a Shatabdi Express, the Sayajinagari Superfast and the Vadodara Express pass through the city to and from Mumbai, but the increasing demand for another train had led to the introduction of this train, Singh said.
Yashpal Nandeya of the Rail and Road Transport Association said, 8220;Another train is welcome, but the authorities should ensure getting reservations for it is not problematic like that for other trains.8221;
President of the Rail and Road Association Suren Choksi said, 8220;The track between Vadodara and Mumbai is already overused. But people travelling frequently on the route will benefit as there are quite a few stops in between.8221;
