Festival time
Come winter and colleges set into a festive groove. A whole gamut of college festivals follow one another with little time to breathe. Now, after Spectrum 8217;99 by Sinhgad Institute Of Management and Express Youth Forum8217;s Pepsi Verve 8217;99 is the festival by Symbiosis Institute of Business Management 8211; Transcend 8217;99.

Expecting participation by around 114 colleges from various parts of the country, including 24 from the city, Transcend 8217;99 will kick off on February 11 and continue with various planned events till February 13. Among the highlights, is a fashion show on the evening of the first day and a rock show by the popular Delhi band, Parikrama, as a conclusion to the fest at Regatta, Koregaon Park.

The 20-year history of Transcend has over the years been a platform for interaction and learning. This year too, expectations of an enjoyable festival run high amongst various management colleges.

The events have been segregated into literary, cultural and informal events as well as various evening attractions. The debate, JAM, street play, choreography and blind date events among others are expected to generate high tempos.

Prized return
Students Cultural Organisation, Pune Endeavour students of the Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce participated in the Winter Carnival All India Youth Festival held between January 13 and 17 at Manali.

They took part in folk and western dances, fashion show, personality contest and various other contests held in the camp. These students returned to Pune on January 22 with their bags full of prizes they won at the camp. The feathers in their caps are the prizes they won for the best western dance, best film dance and also in the fashion show and the Winter Queen contest besides reaching the finals of the personality contest. These students are were very elated after attending the camp and wish that Pune also organises such camps so as to give them a better chance to exhibit their talents and also give an opportunity to students from other universities to visit the city.
