Facing flak from both Tamil Nadu MPs and Kerala MPs on the issue of creation of the new Salem division, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav took recourse to name-dropping to wriggle out of the situation. Pacifying the parliamentarians from the two states in the Lok Sabha, Yadav announced that he would urge Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sit down with the chief ministers and thrash out a solution. Only, it is reliably learnt, the PMO has not taken kindly to this additional dollop in the PM’s already full plate.
