Wrong number?

A senior RAW official, who was posted at the Indian mission in Washington at the time Rabinder Singh defected to the US, has landed in trouble. And it8217;s got nothing to do with the flight of Singh from India. A departmental inquiry has been ordered against the official after there were allegations that the official, who on return from Washington was made in-charge of security and counterintelligence, ordered the tapping of phones of senior officials in the agency itself. The agency is in a tizzy over the issue but the hardest hit has been the official in question himself: while his batchmates were promoted recently, his move upwards was halted pending the inquiry.
