ISLAMABAD: A young man first killed his wife and then shot dead his father whom he suspected of having a sexual relationship with his wife, sparking a chain of revenge killings, it was reported today. The brothers of the slain woman later gunned down her husband Yousuf Bhangwar and his three brothers in the Pakistani village of Kandhkot yesterday, a domestic news agency reported. The report did not say what action the local police had taken in the multiple murder case.Oldest graduateSAN JUAN: A hundred years ago, Ana Molina Osorio hid in a sugar shack as US soldiers stormed her Puerto Rican homeland. This week, she graduated from high school. ``I'm in love with life '' said the 102-year-old San Juan native. She returned to school in January, 86 years after quitting classes to go to work selling tickets at a silent film theatre. ``There was no money then, and school was not a priority. Now I've done something none of my children were able to do, but things have changed,'' she chuckled, proudly clutching her diploma along with 19 other elderly students in a ceremony on Monday at the capital.Lake missingMOSCOW: Residents of the Urals village of Sakhabbo who awoke yesterday to discover their two-hectare lake missing were not surprised. The disappearing act happens every three years or so. According to Russian geologists, shifting sand over the porous limestone ground was the reason. Administrative workers in the village of Kabakovo were recently evacuated when sinkholes appeared at the corner of their building, and a gardener's potato field was washed away when it fell into an underground stream.Old age lossCHICAGO: Elderly people often lose so much of their ability to taste and smell that they are in danger of malnutrition, immune problems or food poisoning, says an expert who reviewed existing research on the problem. ``Sometimes these losses are gradual and people can't figure out what's wrong,'' psychologist Susan S Schiffman said on Monday from her office.
