Mahindra United have their task cut out as they take on Singapore Armed Force in their return match of the group E of the Asian Football Confederation Cup here tomorrow.
Mahindra were cruising well with three straight wins until they lost to Happy Valley Hong Kong in their last match which has put them on par with Singapore Armed Force at the top with nine points each from four outings. A win for either tomorrow will put them through in the next round.
Mahindra, who beat SAF 2-0 in the away match, will be without their four key players. Daddy Mbaka and Yusif Yakubu are out due to double booking, while Mahesh Gawli and keeper Sandip Nandy are nursing injuries.
8220;We will have to fight out without four of our regular players. The difference between both is that they will be playing with all their three foreigners, while we will have to play with one foreigner as two of them are suspended. We will have to use all our resources and home advantage and most importantly to stick to the game plan if we are to overcome our opponent who are a good side,8221; Mahindra coach Derrick Pereira said.
Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan take on group leaders Tampines Rovers of Singapore in an away encounter with their hopes of progressing to the quarter final stage hanging in the balance.
Bagan, who have collected eight points from four group matches, are currently two behind the leaders.
The Kolkata team has won two of their previous Group F encounters with the remaining ending in draws. The reverse fixture at the Salt Lake Stadium ended goalless.
Bagan will be looking to their star strike pairing of Bhaichung Bhutia and Jose Ramirez Barreto to see them through.
