While the Congress accuses the BJP of double-speak on communal issues, its own record came into question this week. While senior leaders like Veerappa Moily and Digvijay Singh claimed that there was 8220;more than sufficient evidence8221; to ban the Bajrang Dal, senior Congress ministers Shivraj Patil and H R Bhardwaj told the Cabinet that there was still 8220;need to collect necessary evidence8221; before taking any such decision. This contradiction comes despite the fact that Congress spokespersons pointed specific instances since 1984 till date as 8220;clinching evidence8221; against the Bajrang Dal.
