AUGUST 10: West Indies scored a sensational last-ball victory over favourites South Africa to enter the final of the under-15 World cup at Hove on Wednesday.Set to score 226 to win, West Indies were cruising comfortably till the last over when they needed three runs with four wickets in hand including Ragoonath, a 14-year old Trinidadian who was dropped on 87 in the previous over.Off the first ball of the over, bowled by Mandilakhe Dipha, the South African captain, Krishmar Santokie, who had made a quick-fire 20, was bowled. A single came off the third ball but the fourth saw Denesh Ramdinwas getting run out as Ragoonath drove to mid off and called for a run. Steve Liburd, the in-coming batsman, scored a single off the fifth ball which meant that one run was needed from the final delivery for victory.As Dipha ran up to bowl, his right hand hit the stumps. He yelled in pain and delivered a no ball, a full toss that Ragoonath struck to square leg boundary.Ragoonath led West Indies to victory but suffered a dislocation in his shoulder - later he was taken to hospital.West Indies will take on Pakistan in the final.INDIA WIN PLATE: Bowlers Irfan Pathan and Mrigen Talukdar and openers Abhinav Kumar and Ambati Rayudu starred in India's emphatic eight-wicket win over Sri Lanka in the losers plate final at the Turf Club of the Welington College in London.With this win, India took the fifth position, among the eight participants.
