Zohal Hamid is allegedly molested by Royal Challengers cricketer Luke Pomersbach.

At the centre of the latest IPL controversy is Zohal Hamid,a woman we know little about. Ever since she alleged molestation by Royal Challengers cricketer Luke Pomersbach we have been trying to find out what was Zohal doing India? Besides being 27 years old and American,who is she? The concrete answers are still to tumble out.

Till the rest is ascertained,Zohal is certainly a victim of Siddhartha Stupid Mallya’s lack of discretion. The grainier the picture of law and order and more casual the vocabulary of social sensitivity becomes,the more distancing the word victim could become in the way we make sense of our everyday lives in India.

Last Saturday,the American Zohal (who is half-Irani),was seen at Delhi’s Hyatt hotel with Abhishek Verma the controversial Delhi businessman,who later announced that she was his rakhi sister. While some say that Zohal is in India to promote a range of cosmetics (the reason she is on Unfashion),others insist she was being introduced as an aspiring Bollywood actor.

My hazardous guess is that she will land up as a Bigg Boss inmate. She has it all: a bad experience whatever the details may be,a bit of infamy,a fat controversy with an IPL context and Jr Mallya in tow,a non-resident Indian status and an NCW complaint.

All she needs is a deeper hair colour,slicker eye-makeup (perhaps from her own cosmetics range) and a new,fusion wardrobe.
