Singer Pete Doherty arrested for possession of drugs

LONDON: British singer Pete Doherty was arrested on Monday on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs immediately after he appeared in court on driving offences. The Babyshambles frontman escaped a prison term at Gloucester Crown Court after admitting careless and drink driving following a gig in the city in June. He was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £2,050. Gloucester police confirmed he had been arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug on Monday,although they did not specify what type.
