Hobbit director quits amid studio delays

LOS ANGELES: Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro who was directing two movies based on JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit has stepped down after two years on the project amid studio delays and schedule conflicts. “In light of ongoing delays in the setting of a start date for filming The Hobbit,I am faced with the hardest decision of my life,” del Toro wrote in a statement on Lord of the Rings fansite TheOneRing.net. He said he would continue to co-write the screenplays with Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson,Fran Walsh and Phillippa Boyens.

Betty White to romance Jeff Bridges in TV show

LONDON: Pop star Lady Gaga spent a night in her tour bus in a supermarket car park instead of joining her entourage at a plush hotel. The Paparazzi hitmaker was booked to stay in a London hotel with her team,but after her staff checked in,she amazed onlookers by returning to her tour bus with her bodyguard,where they drove to a nearby Tesco supermarket and spent the night in the vehicle,reported Mirror online.
