WASHINGTON: The Obama administration in its Af-Pak report on said progress in US-Pak relationship last year was substantial but uneven. It did add that Paskistans assistance to Obama effort in Afghanistan remained crucial.

WASHINGTON: A top US lawmaker Congressman Steve Chabot accused Pakistani spy agency of supporting terror groups. Pakistani and US interests diverge especially on groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba,which ISI continues to view as a strategic asset vis-a-vis India, he said.

FIA chief Waseem Ahmed resigns

ISLAMABAD: The Director General of Federal Investigation Agency FIA Waseem Ahmed sent his resignation to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday,Dawn reported. Following the resignation,IG Baluchistan Malik Muhammed Iqbal has been appointed the new head. Reliable sources told Dawn Ahmed stated he did not want to be a reason of conflict between judiciary and administration while continuing to maintain his post.
