TVS plans to set up unit at Uluberia in W Bengal

TVS Motors plans to set up a unit at Uluberia in West Bengal.

TVS Motors,the third largest two- wheeler manufacturer in the country,plans to set up a unit at Uluberia in West Bengal.

“TVS officials met me this afternoon and have expressed their desire to set up an independent unit after demerging with the Mahabharat Motors in Uluberia,” West Bengal’s Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters.

The new company would produce about 1000 motor cycles per month and its investment in the new capacity could be between Rs 350-400 crore,he said.

“We have decided to offer them 45 acres from the land of Mahabharat Motors,” he said.

The plant will cater to West Bengal and the North-East,the company said in a statement.
