TVS plans to set up unit at Uluberia in W Bengal

TVS Motors,the third largest two- wheeler manufacturer in the country,plans to set up a unit at Uluberia in West Bengal.

8220;TVS officials met me this afternoon and have expressed their desire to set up an independent unit after demerging with the Mahabharat Motors in Uluberia,8221; West Bengal8217;s Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee told reporters.

The new company would produce about 1000 motor cycles per month and its investment in the new capacity could be between Rs 350-400 crore,he said.

8220;We have decided to offer them 45 acres from the land of Mahabharat Motors,8221; he said.

The plant will cater to West Bengal and the North-East,the company said in a statement.
