Movies have often been an inspiration for travellers to visit places whose beauty on screen has left them asking for more. Now,based on the recent movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,a travel company based in the US has designed a special tour called The Best Marigold Rajasthan Tour. The 13-day-tour starts from Delhi and moves to Agra before heading to various locales in Rajasthan. Since John Laddens comedy-drama was shot in the interiors of Rajasthan, the tourists are made to discover the exotic flavours of Rajasthan through tuk-tuk rides and elephant rides across its bustling streets. Interestingly,Slumdog Millionaires release in 2008 also triggered an increase in the number of tourists visiting the slums of Mumbai, while Ryan Murphys Eat,Pray,Love led to a spate of tour packages designed for spiritual enthusiasts interested in visiting India. I want people to see how wonderful India is,as shown in the movie, says Susan Geringer, founder of Geringer Global Travel, the company offering the said tour. The only difference in this customised tour is that visitors will be made to stay in four-star hotels instead of dilapidated havelis as in the movie. The cost of the trip, which will be conducted between October 1,2012 and March 31,2013 is $2,230 ( Rs 1.24 lakh).
