Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singhs absence was conspicuous at the partys three-day special national conference at Agra. While huge banners and hoardings of SP leaders were put up throughout the city,Amar Singh was visible in few of them. In their speeches too,not many leaders hailed Singh. Party workers said this was in sharp contrast to the past. Many construed it as a conscious effort to come out of Singhs shadow,while others dismissed this as wishful thinking.
