Student,migrant worker among the dead

We want justice, cried the grief-stricken and angry families and friends of those who died in one of the most horrific accidents ever in Pune. Among the dead were:

Pooja Patil,19,a dental college student and the daughter of Regional Transport Ofiice agent Bhaurao Patil wasl also injured.

Ram Lalit Shukla,23,hailing from a village in Sant Ravidas Nagar in Bhadohi district in Uttar Pradesh,he had come to Pune six years ago in search of work. Shukla was returning home after dropping a relative at the railway station when the bus crushed him.

Pinkesh Khandelwal,26,a resident of Aranyeshwar,was declared brought dead by the hospital. His 10-year-old daughter,Rashi,is critical with multiple fractures.

Ankush Tikone,46,a courier company employee,was knocked down at Swargate. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Shweta Oswal,28,a resident of Timber Market area,had recently got married. She was taken to hospital in a critical condition and succumbed to her injuries in the afternoon.

Shubhangi More,33,used to work for a self help group and was planning to travel to Poladpur for her sisters engagement. More is survived by her husband and two children.

Akshay Pise,20,a second-year engineering student,was on his way to college. He was one of the casualties at Swargate. His mother said the only thing she wanted was that the bus driver should be punished. Pises principal,Yogesh Nerkar,fondly remembered him as a sincere student.

Milind Gaikwad,46,a soft-spoken executive working at O Hotel for the past four years,was crossing the road near Swargate when the bus hit him.
