Sibal apologises over 8216;error8217; in Bill

The Opposition parties led by the BJP alleged that the legislation was rushed through in the Upper House,but not taken up in the Lower House.

Law Minister Kapil Sibal was forced to apologise on Saturday after a technical error was detected in a Constitutional Amendment Bill that paves way for the creation of a new system for appointment of judges.

The Opposition parties led by the BJP alleged that the legislation was rushed through in the Upper House,but not taken up in the Lower House.

Responding to the attack,Sibal said,Despite our best efforts,I am sorry that the Bill could not be passed in the Lok Sabha. I regret it.
