Sector 33 robbery: Cop misses date in court,warrant issued

Taking strong note of the non-appearance of Sub Inspector Sita Ram in connection with a kidnapping and robbery case dating back to May 27 last year,a local court on Thursday issued bailable warrants against him.

Taking strong note of the non-appearance of Sub Inspector Sita Ram in connection with a kidnapping and robbery case dating back to May 27 last year,a local court on Thursday issued bailable warrants against him.

On May 27,2009 Lalit Behl,a businessman of Sector 33,had alleged that when he was returning from from the Delhi airport he was kidnapped by four persons during the early hours.

He told police that he along with his driver were held hostage near Shahbad Markanda.

The driver was taken hostage at gunpoint and the accused took control of the car,following which the businessman was taken to his house in Sector 33.

His family was kept hostage by the robbers for over two

hours. The robbers took away over Rs 20 lakh.

The UT police with the help of Panchkula police arrested Jaipal,Rajiv,alias Raja,and Bhupinder,alias Bhuppi and Harinder.
