Schooling the schools

The HRD Ministrys proposal dating back to the Arjun Singh era to bring in some kind of regulations for international schools caused quite a flutter at some prominent schools. It is learnt that the principal of Woodstock School in Mussoorie even came to the Capital to meet HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. Some high-profile embassies were learnt to have refused visas to faculty from the school in the light of the Indian governments proposed regulations. The HRD Ministry immediately intervened to clarify to the embassies that the usual policy would apply to all international schools for the time being,as the new proposals were still under examination.
