A Goa court on Monday framed charges against two locals for grave sexual assault and destroying evidence in the sensational Scarlett Eden Keeling death case reported in the state in 2008.
The Goa Childrens Court also pressed charges,including culpable homicide,outraging modesty,destroying evidence and grave sexual assault under the Goa Childrens Act,against the duo Samson DSouza and Placido Carvalho.
Goa Childrens Court president B P Deshpande on Monday directed to begin the trial in this case,which had attracted world attention due to the initial shoddy investigation by the Goa Police and subsequent campaign by Fiona Mackeown,Scarletts mother,claiming police-drug peddler nexus in the state.
