Actor Salman Khan, who appeared as a prosecution witness in a case against gangster Chhota Shakeel’s henchman Anjum Fazlani, told the court on Thursday that he doesn’t remember Fazlani in any special reference, but had met him once or twice. According to the prosecution,Fazlani had threatened Salman to reduce his fees for producer Nasim Rizvi’s film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, released nine years ago,or face dire consequences.

Salman told Special MCOCA judge M P Kukday that he might have met Fazlani several years ago and thus does not remember him. After actress Preity Zinta, who also starred in the film,Khan was the only person to have stood his ground and not turned hostile before the court.

Answering the prosecution questions,Khan said he did not have much expectations from the film beyond that it should be directed by an experienced and well-established director. Khan said no one had threathened him and he was only approached by Rizvi and assistant producer Abdul Rahim Allahbaksh with an offer to play the lead role.

The prosecution’s case is that the 2001 film was financed by diamond merchant Bharat Shah at the behest of Chhota Shakeel.
