Salem gets bail in extortion case

Dismissing the plea of the Delhi Police seeking to invoke harsher penal provision against gangster Abu Salem,a local court granted him bail in an extortion case. Salem,however,will not be released as he is facing trial in eight other cases,including the Mumbai serial blasts. Salem shall not intimidate witnesses,shall not leave the country and shall not cause delay in the case, ACM Magistrate Rakesh Pandit said,granting him bail.
