Rupee surges to 45.15 against dollar

The Indian Rupee appreciated by 13 paise to trade at Rs 45.15 a dollar in the morning trade.

The Indian Rupee appreciated by 13 paise to trade at Rs 45.15 a dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange market in the morning trade on Friday,following dollar selling by exporters.

Dealer said firm stock market and dollar selling by exporters,kept the rupee sentiment firm.

The rupee had gained 10 paise to close at Rs 45.28/29 against the US currency in the previous session,on strong domestic equity markets and dollar selling by exporters.

Meanwhile,the Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex was up by 47.87 points to 20,040.57 points in morning trade at 1000 hrs,recovering its loss of 40 points in the opening trade.
