Chairman of energy and environment committee,Institute of Indian Foundrymen,GS Agarwala,pitched for a rollback of the 2.5 per cent duty on import of metal scrap. Speaking at the release of the Theme Document Indias Tryst with Sustainable Economic Resurgence in New Delhi,Agarwala stated that India was not able to compete with Thailand and Malaysia as goods produced from scrap when exported from the two countries are allowed duty free imports.
