The CBI on Friday filed the chargesheet in the case of murder of Kunda DSP Ziaul Haque against 14 persons,leaving out the name of former minister Raja Bhaiyya who was an accused in the FIR lodged by the DSPs wife.
Those named in the chargesheet include slain Balipur pradhan Nanhe Yadavs son Yogendra alias Babloo,his brothers Phoolchand,Pawan and Sudhir,all of whom attacked the DSP when he went to the village after the pradhans murder on the evening of March 2.
It was Yogendra alias Babloo who shot dead the DSP with his fathers licensed .315 bore rifle,according to the chargesheet.
Along with the chargesheet,the CBI also filed a closure report in the murder of Nanhe Yadavs brother Suresh who was among the DSPs assailants,but was shot dead with his own double-barrel gun when it went off accidentally in a scuffle.
Both the chargesheet and the closure report were filed in the court of special judicial magistrate Mirza Zeenat which fixed June 19 for taking cognizance of the chargesheet and June 25 for the closure report.
The CBI also filed a chargesheet against Sureshs juvenile son,one of the accused,before the Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board.
Besides Raja Bhaiyya,four other persons named in the FIR lodged by the DSPs wife do not figure in the chargesheet.
The CBI had on Thursday filed an application in a local court,seeking permission to subject Raja Bhaiyya to a polygraph test.
In the chargesheet,which is based on the FIR filed by the police on the night of the murder,the CBI has said that Suresh Yadav,his juvenile son,brothers Phoolchand and Pawan,pradhans son Babloo and associates Manjit Yadav,Ghanshyam Saroj,Ram Lakhan Gautam,Chhotey Lal Yadav,Ram Asre,Munna Lal Patel,Shiv Ram Pasi,Jagat Bahadur Pal alias Bulle Pal beat up the DSP mercilessly with hockey sticks and rods,causing him serious injuries and leaving him unconscious.
Sudhir has been accused of helping the murder accused in destroying the evidence. The CBI is yet to arrest Sudhir and Suresh Yadavs juvenile son.
