Spandan Communications presented the sixth evening of Raag Rang - the series of Indian classical music on April 21 in Delhi.

Spandan Communications presented the sixth evening of Raag Rang – the series of Indian classical music on April 21 in Delhi. The concert showcased the performance of a renowned flute player Ajay Prasanna accompanied by Athar Hussain on the tabla.
The duo entertained the audience with Raag Gorakh Kalyan and Raag Des,followed by a Dhun,Yaad piya ki,composed by Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Pt. Rajan Misra and Pt. Sajan Misra were also present.

Saregama’s pioneering portal
Saregama India Limited has launched a new initiative,wap.saregama.com,for mobile downloads. A year earlier,Saregama had introduced full-song downloads on mobile on Airtel Live and Vodafone Live through aggregator Techzone,which opened up a new revenue model for the music industry on the mobile platform. Now it goes a step further. Talking about the initiative,Chief Manager,New Media PK Prasannan said,“Saregama’s wap initiative to deliver the MP3 full songs from their rich catalogue of over 50000 songs from 10 languages has set a benchmark in the music industry. At a point when the physical sale is on a downtrend,Saregama has proved yet again that retro content has got good demand. Since the launch of this service on mobile we have more than a lakh music lovers who have visited and downloaded songs from wap.saregama.com.”
Film music,ghazals,devotional and regional are included in this repertoire. All the songs are digitised.

Music for a cause
A special music concert by Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt and Salil Bhatt was organised in aid of the Manik Prabhu School for the Blind on April 24 in Hyderabad. All the proceeds of this charity concert will go to the cause. The show saw a rare jugalbandi between the father on the Mohan Veena and his son on the Satvik Veena.
