Probe ordered,no flights

Indias fleet of Su-30 MKI fighters remained on the ground on Wednesday following the crash near Pune even as Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne visited the Chabua and Tezpur airbases to oversee the development of infrastructure for the fighter at the two bases.

Officials said the entire fleet of over 100 fighters did not take off as safety checks were being performed following Tuesdays incident.

Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju said a detailed investigation would be carried out. While a court of inquiry has been ordered,the problem is likely to be with the fly by wire systems 8211; computer systems to control aircraft movement.
