Goverment doctors cannot be prosecuted for corruption for engaging in private practice

Goverment doctors cannot be prosecuted for corruption for engaging in private practice,the SC has ruled. A bench of Justices Markandeya Katju and Gyan Sudha Misra said it would be preposterous to think that consultation fee charged by a government doctor amounts to illegal gratification. It would be preposterous 8230; to hold that8230; as that would be against plain common sense, Justice Misra said.
