The Praja Rajyam Party and Samajwadi Party on Monday announced the creation of a fourth front in the state by forging an alliance.
SP leader Amar Singh and Sanjay Dutt met Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi late in the evening at the party headquarters in Jubilee Hills here. They were closeted in a meeting for over an hour after which they said that they were tying up to create a larger secular polity. Chirajeevi had earlier hinted at the formation of a fourth front in the state, and this meeting appeared to be held to finalise it.
While ruling out supporting the Congress or TDP in case the PRP did not get a majority in the Assembly elections,Chiranjeevi had recently indicated that he was trying to work out a fourth front with like-minded parties. Amar Singh was one of the first political leaders to come personally and congratulate Chiranjeevi on the launch of his party last August.
Sources said that with surveys and opinion polls indicating that the PRP might not get a majority,Chiranjeevi was keen on forging a fourth front with parties like the SP.
