Normally a politician would never let go an opportunity to cut ribbons. But if a member of Sonia Gandhis family is also present on the occasion,every Congress leader is more than willing to step back and let the exalted one do the honours. So it happened with Tourism Minister Kumari Selja,who was invited to inaugurate a new eatery at the just-renovated Janpath Hotel. Selja was delayed because of a meeting and in the meanwhile,Robert Vadra,who had been invited to be the first guest of the restaurant,reached the venue. When Selja finally made it to the place,the owner requested both the VIPs to cut the ribbon together. But Selja did not want to let this opportunity of showing her deference to 10 Janpath go waste. So she insisted on Vadra cutting the ribbon,which he did,though rather sheepishly.
