To ring in the new year, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli shared an adorable picture with his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, on Instagram. He called her the light of his life.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma mostly avoid opening up about their personal life publicly, and are even lesser active on social media. But, as 2025 came to an end, the celebrity couple welcomed 2026 with a lot of enthusiasm. When the entire world was busy partying, Virat and Anushka decided to ring in the new year with lowkey celebrations together. On Wednesday night, the Indian cricketer posted a heartwarming picture with the actor, calling her the light of his life.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Virat shared an adorable moment with Anushka, and wrote in the caption, “Stepping into 2026 with the light of my life @anushkasharma.” In the photo, the couple can be seen dressed in casual outfits – Virat was wearing a beige cargo with black T-shirt and Anushka was donning a white shirt and blue jeans. The interesting part was that both of them had face paint on one side of their faces, which is usually an element in parties. The picture was either from their kids’ birthday bashes earlier or their NYE party itself.

Anushka had a cute butterfly face mask paint, while Virat had a spiderman print. The post got so much love that it drew close to four million likes within an hour, with 9.8M likes as of now. The post was uploaded around 13 hours ago on Instagram. Fans could t stop themselves from gushing over their favourite star couple’s rare moment on social media. “King and Queen,” several fans wrote in the comments section.

With the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the India vs New Zealand ODI series right around the corner, Virat Kohli will return to work soon after his brief family break. He will be featuring in the List A competition for the first time in 15 years. The Indian ODI team has to assemble in Vadodara by January 8, and the three-match series against the Black Caps will start on January 11. On the other hand, Anushka Sharma has been on a long hiatus from acting.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married in December 2017 and welcomed two kids – daughter Vamika (2021) and son Akaay (2024). The couple is currently living in London, to have a life away from the spotlight in Mumbai.
