Pak singer hospitalised after police raid wedding

Famous Pakistani singer Annie Khalid spent the night of her marriage in hospital after she went into shock over a police raid on her wedding party that violated government rules. Lahore Police raided the party Saturday as it violated a rule set by the Punjab government for all marriage functions to end by 10 pm. According to the law,the bridegroom can be arrested for not complying with government orders. Police later registered a case against Annies father-in-law and 15 of her relatives and friends for attacking police. Annie,who has performed in India,was rushed to a hospital from the party as her condition deteriorated because of the humiliation meted out to the couple.

Women tied to pole in Pak for trying to steal clothes

Two women were tied to an electricity pole after they allegedly tried to steal some clothes from a shop in Multan city,police and local residents said Sunday. According to officials,shopkeeper Mohammad Farooq of Sooraj Miani area informed police by phone that he had caught the two women while they were allegedly trying to steal some clothes from his shop. When we reached the spot,the shopkeepers had tied the women to an electricity pole to make an example of them, Sub-Inspector Shafiq Ahmad said. As the women were tied to the pole,people photographed them and shot videos with their mobile phones. The women were later arrested and taken away.
