Omar gets a Home call

Caught on the wrong foot after he attributed the death of two women in Shopian to drowning which turned out to be a case of rape and killing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was reluctant to host Home Minister P Chidambaram. The CM and his father and Union Minister Farooq Abdullah conveyed this to PM Manmohan Singh,arguing that a visit by a dignitary from the Centre would be seen as the failure of the Abdullah administration. The Centre,however,refused to oblige,and Chidambaram went ahead with his scheduled programme.
